Community Mountain Hikes: Arapaho Pass

Planned Hike: Arapaho Pass
More difficult hike (6+ miles)

Hike in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with Adwoa Lemieux as your guide!
EVERY WEDNESDAY JUNE 7TH - AUGUST 9TH

Build community as you hike & learn!

We will meet and hike each week exploring the trails near Nederland Colorado. We will build our hikes on where the wildflowers are!  Each week a new place, new views and a new perspective.  Hikes will include Arapahoe Pass, Forest Lakes, Glacier View, Niwot Ridge, Golden Gate State Park trails and more!

Our goal will be to blend the physicality of hiking together with the botanical beauty of the wild flowers. We will learn about tracks and scat, the history of our chosen trails, identifying flowers and learning about edible wildflowers/herbal uses. We will also  enjoy the social aspects of being together as a community.  The pace will match the group as a whole and inspire each other along the way.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

She also led Team Earth.  She led the Wild Bear After School nature and art program for many years. This year is the inaugural year for outdoor Adult Camps. Adwoa has lived in and has hiked in the Indian Peaks for over 25 year.  She has a specialty in both identifying wild flowers (and in finding the spots where they are blooming!) and in the uses of medicinal herbs and flowers. She makes her own herbal salves, teas, honey and balms. She was the herbalist at Nature's Own Natural Food Store.  She has also taught in the Women's ski programs for over ten year and continues  to teach at Eldora Ski Resort as a ski instructor.  Living and being in the mountains and outdoors everyday is essential for her well being!
