Tracking Colorado's Wildlife - Track Colorado's amazing animals! Learn to identify signs of the animals that share our woods, streams and meadows. Investigate the lives of mammals such as bear, elk and beaver through hands-on interaction with pelts, skulls and tracks.

Traveling Arthropod Zoo -The very popular Arthropod Zoo is available to visit your classroom! Meet Vinney the Scorpion, Rapunzel the rose-hair tarantula, and more. Observe these fascinating creatures up close. For an outdoor element to this program, we will take your class to a nearby stream or pond to look for and observe aquatic macroinvertebrates.
 
NEW! Plants and Pollination - What are the parts of plants?  Who are the pollinators?  Explore these questions as you learn about the life cycles of plants and their pollinators, and discover the many ways we use plants every day.
 
NEW! Fabulous Food Chains and Wonderful Webs - Investigate the interactions between Earth's organisms.  Create your own food chains and webs to explore the flow of energy from the sun all of Earth's creatures--including you!
 
NEW! Spaceship Earth - Take a ride on Spaceship Earth to explore the cycles of air, water and energy on our planet.  Create your own living Earth Dome to take home.  Gain perspective on our role in the universe.  (Materials fee may apply.) 
 
NEW! Underground Investigations - Dig into the amazing world of a vermicompost bin!  Examine the anatomy of our worms, the "Red Wigglers," and their role as decomposers.  use a microscope to meet other inhabitants and explore their interactions.

A Classroom Without Walls - Mud Lake Nature Discovery Program - Come to Mud Lake near Nederland for a unique outdoor adventure! Allow your class to experience the tranquility of a mountain lake, helping cultivate your students appreciation of nature.

Who Can Schedule an Outreach Program?

Schools, scout troops, clubs, parties, day care centers, senior centers, home school groups...

How Much Does It Cost?

$100 for a 1- hour program, $125 for a 1 1/2 - hour program, and $200 for a 1/2 day program. Travel fees apply for locations beyond 20 miles ($0.50/mile)All costs reflect groups of 25 or less, additional students are assessed at $3.00 per person.  Materials fees may apply.
