Friday Workshops
All ages workshops
Hours: 8am-4pm
Cost: $55/day
Join these all ages workshops, exploring the local Nederland area. Venture out to Mud Lake, play at Chipeta Park, plant and harvest Wild Bear's plot at the Nederland community garden and visit local attractions that make Nederland unique.
Friday, June 13 Growing Gardens Bring your garden gloves and plant Wild Bear's garden behind the Coop in Nederland. Plant edibles, herbs, and ornamentals! Picnic and play at Chipeta Park.
Friday, June 20 The Creek Runs Through It Grab the water nets and venture down to Middle Boulder Creek in Ned and discover the macro-invertebrates in the water that has traveled all the way from the high alpine peaks. Check on the garden and measure its progress!
Friday, June 27 Forts in the Woods Head out to Wild Bear's property at Mud Lake and create your own fort! Can you find any signs of the wildlife that might live in your fort when you leave?
Friday, July 11 Fire Fighters Head on down to the Nederland Fire Station. Check out the fire fighting equipment, meet the firefighters and hear their stories. Check on the garden and measure its progress!
Friday, July 18 Crayfish and their Kin Bring your water shoes and nets and venture out to Mud Lake to capture and release the underwater creatures that live there. Enjoy a leave no trace picnic.
Friday, July 25 Old Timers Days Kick off the local Nederland Miners' Days weekend and visit the Mining Museum. Check out one of the world's largest steamshovels and visit with the local old timers.
Friday, August 1 Boulder Reservoir Let's go on a field trip to Boulder Reservoir, play on the beach and swim in the water! Bring your suit, towel and sunscreen!
Friday, August 8 Harvest Party at the Park Let's harvest the garden and taste the fruits of our labor. Play at the park and skip stones at Barker Reservoir. Time to celebrate!
